Happily, The Tumbling Dice discovered the Rolling Stones from original vinyls, poring over their cover art while the needle dropped. They dig the sheer breadth of the Stones’ music, incorporating Blues, Country, Psychedelia, ballads, Punk, Reggae, Disco, and Gospel, let alone RnB, Funk, Soul, and good old R&R, bending each form of late 20th century American youth music to their own designs.

Fortunately, the Dice benefit from a broadly similar musical vocabulary and draw upon their varied talents to deliver exciting showmanship. Their revellers can readily see for themselves just how much of a joy it’s been for the Dice to enjoy the Rolling Stones on stage, absorb their artful perspective and, above all, pay particular tribute to their live performances.

“His Majesty (our Brenda)” has led bands for 18 of his past 38 years writing and performing guitar rock. He delights in Jagger’s cajoling jive, fronting the Stones’ talent for echoing the brutal honesty of American, working-class song and dance. True to form, he bellows and swaggers with the same unselfconscious bravado and mischief as his muse.

Bass, Human Sequencer

Born and raised in Oakland on his dad's Rock LPs, our “Quiet One” picked up guitar by age 14, upon hearing Nirvana. Since 2003, he’s honed his bass craft with notable, local Punk bands Overdrive AD, the Scrawnies, and the Rinds. For the Dice, he brings to bear his indelible grasp of song-form and faithfully holds forth with the “Y-Man’s” famously beat-forward, rolling thunder.

Drums & Percussion

An aficionado of '60s and '70s RnB, Soul, Psychedelia, and Rock’n’Roll, our “Charlie” has been a natural on drums for 30+ years since battering the skins at school. A versatile player, he slams together with Dante in Marcus' Punk band, the Rinds, whenever he isn't slinging a hard groove for the Dice, mining Watts’ “hard diamond beat” and subtly punchy swing.

Rhythm & Lead Guitars

Raised in a musical family, our “Keef” has been mastering bass for 32 years. After another 8 years on guitar as well, discovering the joys of coaxing magic from an open-G-tuned, 5-string Telecaster instigated his love affair with Richards-and-crew's Rhythm Rock since 2014. He artfully conveys Keith's yearning solos and remarkable sense of the groove.

Keyboards & Backing Vocal

Classically trained for 7 years before he was bitten by Boogie Woogie records, our “6th Stone” belts out lower backups while sweeping or hammering the “stony” keys to elicit soulful organ strains or drive home the rolling beat like every backing Stones keyboardist from Stu, “Edward,” Dickinson, Preston, and McLagan to Leavell, Clifford, Tench, Elton, and Wonder.

Sax, Under Assistant West Coast Promo Man

While informed by 54 years of rocking nearly every form of roots music and American recording genre, not to mention successive British Waves, the Stones yet had an early, formative impact upon our “Bobby.” Having come full circle, he urgently impels the beat forward with his hallmark wails and hotspur rhythms, while reinforcing fervent harmonies.

Our “Fischer/Fowler” chanteur shepherds a magical transformation of your soul whenever and wherever he dons high-tone threads to trade or blend his higher-end vocals together with Marcus and Ranzo, not unlike musical incantations, channeling Lisa and Bernard with his own signature finesse and singularly outrageous, sartorial panache.

Our “Little Mick” has performed and recorded professionally for over 40 years, backing many major and charting artists worldwide, since graduating from Berklee College of Music. For him, the Stones are foundational to most rock guitar playing and songwriting, as he affectionately exhibits with his own sweet pass at Woody’s and Taylor's guitar sorcery.

Sound Man Extraordinaire

Awed by witnessing Mick Jagger captivate 100,000 at Coachella (with the band simply grooving and rock'n'rolling like second nature without a care), our “Wizard” at the board can be trusted to dial in the sonic bliss for each of us. Audiences are meanwhile gratified by his persistent knack for keeping each song well balanced and scintillating.
